The Chrysler Tower (319 m) was built between 1928 and 1930 and was for a short time the second tallest building in the world, just behind the Eiffel Tower (330 m). In 1931, the Empire State Building took second place. Built in an Art Deco architectural style, it is one of the most iconic skyscrapers in New York.
In the early 2000s, there were infiltration problems with the turns of the stainless steel columns at the tip of the skyscraper. An RD-Elastometal system combined with an RD-Elastoroof ALU finish was selected to solve the problem.
